Members' Events

Below you will find details of upcoming events and functions (bowling and social) for club members. The social side of our club is what makes it fun and friendly but also viable as our clubhouse is an expensive building to maintain.

Please support your club by coming to as many events as you can throughout the year. Scroll down for event information and dates for your diary.

Income that's usually generated by hosting outside bowls competitions hasn't come in to the club due to the dreadful weather that got progressively worse as the season went on. At least two important competitions were cancelled at the last moment. Therefore, we need to try and top up the coffers before we head into 2025 - there's some serious capital expenditure coming up in 2025.

SOCIAL BOWLING COMPETITION 2025

This annual competition will be held on Friday. 22nd of August, with registration starting at 12.30pm. The competition is limited to a maximum of 48 players and places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. The entry fee is £3.00.

Once again, Chris Kershaw has kindly agreed to act as Administrator and he will organise the random selection of players, the setting up of the pegs and will keep the scores of the players during the competition. There will be six jacks used on each green, with four players to each jack.

As usual, the Spider competition will be held after the main event - the fun and simple one bowl, closest to the jack wins!
